Final Project
Inspiration:
The inspiration for the theme of the game comes from a game called “BAD END THEATER”. This game doesn’t follow traditional trends, such as the prince marries the princess, the warrior slays the dragon and saves the princess, etc. I want to make a game like this, it doesn’t end in a normal way.
I set for 2 game over ends, a 1 unfolded end, and a true end. I initially wanted to make a loop-like game in which the protagonist spends a day repeatedly, but I felt it might be too boring with limited information given at each time.
I revisit and finish my project 5 (word game) to be my final project. I really like to use twine to adjust word appearances and give visual effects without actually importing images. I also try to create some meta gaming elements, such as using “you” as the pronounce. Although using “you” tends to tighten up the player and the protagonist, the way I describe “your” experiences might not be the same as the players’. I notice that many players will naturally treat themselves as the protagonist in many games while I usually treat the protagonist as an individual character that is just under my control. Thus, I wish players could carry the question “Is this ‘you’ really me” during the playing process. I include some tricks in the words players can interact with to create a communication effect between me and the players.
